How to solve the ‘Outlook Stuck on Loading Profile’ problem?
Launch Outlook as an administrator
One of the things that can help you eliminate the “Outlook is stuck downloading a file” problem is to run Outlook as an administrator. You don’t need to do anything in this process. However, we provide these steps for your convenience. Follow them and solve the problem of Outlook not loading.
- Simply click the “Start” button on your computer and find “Outlook.exe”.
- Now right-click on it and select “Run as administrator” from the menu.
Disabling Outlook add-ons in safe mode
- Before you start, make sure that Outlook windows are closed.
- Then press the Windows and R keys simultaneously to open the Run dialog box.
- When the Run dialog box appears, type “Outlook.exe/safe” and press Enter.
- This will open the Outlook application in safe mode.
- Confirm your profile when prompted.
- Now select the “File” tab and click “Options”.
- Click the “Add-ons” tab and find the “Manage” drop-down menu.
- Click on it and select “COM Add-ons”. Immediately after that click the “Go” button.
- Now uncheck the box next to each add-on and click “OK”.
- Then close Outlook and restart it to see if the problem with Outlook not loading has gone away.
Creating a new Outlook profile
- First, close Outlook if it is open. Open the “Run” dialog box as described in the sections above, i.e. by pressing Windows and R.
- Then type “control mlcfg32.cpl” and press Enter.
- Click “View Profiles” and then the “Add” button to create a new profile.
- You can now give your profile a name.
- On the next screen, enter your email credentials in the automatic “Email Account” field.
- When you’re finished making your settings, simply click on the “Always use this profile” option.
- Or select a new profile from the list. Click “Apply” to confirm.
Resetting the navigation bar
- First, close Outlook completely. Then press the window key along with the R key.
- In the launch window that appears, type “Outlook.exe/resetnavpane” and press the Enter key.
- The Outlook navigation pane is now back to its default state.
