NLANR Cache Locations
The initial caching testbed system deployment utilized
six US root cache sites on 266MHz
Digital Alpha processors, each supported by 256MB of memory, 10GB of
hard disk space, and FDDI and Ethernet interfaces. Five of these locations
are still in operation:
- bo -- NCAR at Boulder, Colorado
- pb -- PSC at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
- sd -- SDSC at San Diego, California
- sv -- NASA-Ames/FIX-West in Silicon Valley, California
- uc -- NCSA at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois
These other sites have been added after the initial six:
- pa -- Digital Internet Exchange in Palo Alto, California
- sj -- MAE West Exchange Point in San Jose, Caifornia.
- rtp -- Research Triangle Park, North Carolina
- ny -- New York, New York
The following sites are no longer in operation:
- dc -- MAE-East, in conjunction with the Internet Multicasting Service.
- it -- Cornell Theory Center, Ithaca, New York.
- startap -- The STARTAP international exchange point.
